What is Neighbor to Neighbor?

Through the work of the Mason County Housing Task Force, a partnership was formed between Habitat and the Pennies From Heaven Foundation to repair neighborhoods in our community, and the Neighbor to Neighbor Volunteer Initiative was created. We aim to help clean up blighted homes in our community by providing homeowners in need with a helping hand. N2N works to establish homeowner and neighborhood pride, while giving property values a boost.

Neighborhood Projects:

Assists 2-3 homes in one neighborhood!

Volunteers work alongside homeowners on 3 Volunteers days.

N2N projects typically take place in spring and fall.

  • Reviews recommendations from local municipalities, homes nominated, and applications;

  • Identifies potential neighborhoods of 2-3 homes among suggestions and applicants;

  • Completes a visual inspection of the homes, and evaluate what we can reasonably accomplish with volunteers and donations; and

  • Talks with potential homeowners.

*Some preference given to homeowners who apply.
